Albi Manufacturing was started in the late 1940’s as a result of the development of new technologies providing fire retardant protection for canvas, wood and textiles. In the early 1960’s the chemistry evolved to encompass fireproofing for structural steel. Today, Albi continues to be a worldwide leader in the development, testing and sales of intumescent fire protective coatings. Each of these products are manufactured and distributed from our facilities in East Berlin, CT. We also sell a mineral fiberboard for dry applications. Our products are UL tested and certified which guarantees the Albi commitment to protecting people and property.
Our products:
Albi Clad TF is a water-based thin film intumescent fireproof material for use on interior structural steels. It is UL classified for up to 3-1/2 of protection. This hard, durable, abrasion resistant product provides a smooth, aesthetic finish. Because of its water-base formulation, Albi Clad TF is fully compliant with EPA VOC limits and regulations.
Albi Clad FP fireproofing brings the water-based, thin-film, intumescent coating characteristics of renowned Albi Clads to materials including wood, wallboard, plaster and other non-ferrous substrates. FP combines intumescent fire protection with the aesthetic breakthrough of an attractive, decorative, interior finish that preserves architectural detail on a range of materials. AlbiClad FP is fully compliant with EPA VOC limits and regulations.
Albi Clad 800 is a solvent based intumescent mastic coating applied to structural steel, concrete and other construction materials for the exterior applications. It is UL classified for up to three hours of protection. Albi Clad 800 should be specified wherever long-lasting fireproofing with high abrasion and impact resistance is required. Albi Clad 800 will withstand extreme weather conditions and chemical fumes. It is highly recommended for use on offshore drilling platforms, petrochemical plants, power plants and dock facilities along with exterior architectural applications.
Albi DriClad is a mineral fiber fireproofing board for use in interior or semi-exposed locations and provides up to three hours of protection. It encases structural steel or other materials and can applied in any temperature or weather conditions. As a board system it does not require any surface preparation to the substrate. DriClad is installed using our AlbiScrew system.
